The Aimen Gate is a county-designated historic monument. In the past, every street and alley intersection in Lugang had such a gate. Today, only one remains, located in a small alley named Houche Alley, behind Zhongshan Road. This sole surviving Aimen Gate was built in the 10th year of Daoguang (1830 AD). It is approximately 10 feet high and 8 feet wide, and inscribed with the four characters '門迎後車' (Gate Welcomes Rear Carts). It has endured through time, having collapsed in 1979 and since been repaired.
