Main deity: Guan Sheng Di Jun. Historical Evolution: The Changhua Guandi Temple is a county-designated historic site, originally founded in the 13th year of Emperor Yongzheng's reign (1735 AD) by Qin Shiwang, the magistrate of Changhua at the time. Its original location was within the South Gate of the county seat. In the 51st year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1786), Lin Shuangwen led a rebellion against the Qing government, during which many temples and government offices within the city were destroyed by war. After the rebellion was quelled, in the 5th year of Emperor Jiaqing's reign (1800 AD), Magistrate Hu Yingkui, along with tribute students Zheng Shimo, Wu Dongsheng, and others, initiated the relocation and reconstruction of the temple to its current site.
