Changhua Qing'an Temple - Dadau Gong Temple

Main Deity: Baosheng Dadi. Co-enshrined: Guanyin Bodhisattva. History: Changhua Qing'an Temple is a county-designated historic site, also known as Yintong Ancestral Temple. It is dedicated to Baosheng Dadi and served as the center of faith for immigrants from the Quanzhou region in Changhua City during the Qing Dynasty. It was built in the 22nd year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1817 AD) through public contributions from gentry, common people, and elders from Tongan County who had migrated to Taiwan. Inside the temple, a horizontal plaque is inscribed with 'Yintong Yimiao,' which is an elegant name for Tongan County. Baosheng Dadi, whose given name was Wu Zhen or Wu Zhenren, is commonly known as Dadau Gong. He was from Baijiao, Tongan, during the Song Dynasty. It is believed that he had many miraculous effects in treating illnesses, and he is revered by the people as the God of Medicine.
