Xihu Sugar Factory exudes a sweet and nostalgic atmosphere, combining culture, leisure, and gourmet food. It not only fully preserves the old sugar refinery, with its massive chimneys and sugar evaporation tanks emanating a "steampunk" vibe, but it also features an ancient steam locomotive. The "Wufenche" (half-gauge train) still traverses the old tracks, now adorned with colorful decorations to transport visitors. The quaint old buildings have been transformed into specialty shops selling ice pops, trendy desserts, ice cream, and more. The spacious park also boasts the "Linjing Forest," lush green lawns, a large barbecue area, an ecological pond, and other diverse attractions, making it a popular tourist destination in Changhua. Taiwan was once Asia's largest sugar exporter, and Xihu Sugar Factory was historically the sugar factory with the highest production volume nationwide. After a glorious history and ceasing operations, the vast sugar refinery now allows visitors to experience the splendor of a century of sugar industry. Relevant government agencies have even sought to list it as a "World Industrial Heritage" site, highlighting its immense scale and inherent charm.
