Fan-shaped Roundhouse

The 'Fan-shaped Roundhouse,' a national historic monument, is a well-preserved treasure of Taiwan's railway culture. It is the only remaining fan-shaped roundhouse in Taiwan and is also known as a 'locomotive hotel.' Ascend to the observation deck for a panoramic view of the entire roundhouse. From there, you can see locomotives slowly rotating on the 360-degree turntable in the center, which serves as the hub for trains entering and exiting. Following the turntable are 12 tracks, fanning out in a semi-circular arc towards the sheds, creating a striking and unique radial pattern. National treasure-class steam locomotives also quietly rest nearby, inviting visitors to reflect on the historical and cultural journey.
