Huoyanshan (Flame Mountain) is a rare badlands spectacle in Taiwan. Its peaks feature exposed rock layers with sparse vegetation, and its reddish-brown crumbling cliffs and sheer precipices resemble an alien planet. From a distance, it looks like a raging fire, as if one has entered a "moon world," earning it the title of "Taiwan's Grand Canyon." Huoyanshan stands at an elevation of 602 meters. The trail largely consists of dirt and stone steps, with many uphill sections. Most parts are shaded by trees, making for a cool and comfortable walk. However, some sections are narrow and steep, and seismically fragile, offering a precarious experience akin to walking on a cliff edge.
