Qinghai Temple

Houlong Qinghai Temple, located a hundred feet from the sea, is nestled against the mountains and overlooks the ocean. It features the tallest Mazu statue in Taiwan, standing at 32.2 meters. The combination of azure seas, blue skies, and green mountain scenery, occasionally punctuated by a passing coastal train, creates a charming scene, as if Mazu, guardian of the nation and its people, is on an inspection tour by train—a sight both whimsical and deeply symbolic of peace. Qinghai Temple has a 45-year history and faces the Taiwan Strait. The surrounding area is sparsely populated. It primarily enshrines the Heavenly Holy Mother (Mazu) as its main deity. Legend has it that the statue drifted ashore from the sea. Due to its renowned divine power, it attracts many worshippers and enjoys thriving incense offerings.
