The name of the Swasiq Tribe comes from the Atayal word "Swasiq," meaning a place rich in black nightshade (a type of wild vegetable). Due to its location at the foot of Longshan Mountain, the name "Longshan Tribe" is also widely used. The entrance to the very famous "Henglong Ancient Trail" is located above the Swasiq Tribe. Friends visiting Tai'an to hike ancient trails or enjoy hot springs might consider making a detour to visit this tribe. Within the Swasiq Tribe, apart from the Longshan Police Station and the Swasiq Church, most buildings are residential homes. Although these are modern concrete structures, local residents, to recreate the Atayal tribal atmosphere, have painted indigenous-style murals on the continuous residential walls, showcasing traditional life characteristics and local agricultural products. The tribe also features stilt houses unique to the Atayal people, and traditional cultural relics and craft studios are hidden in the alleys, making it suitable for a leisurely stroll to enjoy quiet and relaxing moments.
