Manzhu DIY Candle Story House has transformed into a candle-themed tourist factory, injecting new vitality into Taiwan's traditional industries. From 1971 to 1991, during the golden age of glass factories, Manzhu's predecessor produced glass. At that time, glass-jarred candles were popular, and the factory handled everything from production to sales. In 1991, as the glass industry declined, Manzhu shifted to making art candles. Wax figurines, exported to Europe and America, became bestsellers, with traders even wanting exclusive agency rights. However, due to cheap dumping from China, overseas markets shrank, leading to the regrettable decision to abandon wax figurines. Amidst research and development, owner Mr. Chen realized, 'The candle factory must transform!' He envisioned creating a candle factory suitable for parent-child DIY, designing candles perfect for children to decorate. 'We hope that every family visiting Manzhu leaves with abundant joy and satisfying gains!' This aspiration led to the name 'Manzhu.' In 2015, it was certified as a 'Story House' by the Miaoli County Government, aiming to share more candle stories and wonders with the public nationwide. The Toufen Manzhu DIY Candle Story House embodies the culture and art of candles, showcasing thousands of festival candles once exported worldwide to educate the public about candle knowledge. Besides parent-child candle painting DIY, the Manzhu DIY Candle Story House also offers guided tours of the candle-making process.
