Zhongshan Hall & Zhongzheng Hall

Toufen City has a large population and has always been an important industrial and commercial hub in Miaoli County. However, in the early days, there were no suitable venues for arts and cultural performances. Residents who wished to enjoy cultural exhibitions and performances had to travel to Miaoli City or Hsinchu. Recognizing this need, the township office applied for funding from the Council for Cultural Affairs and decided to renovate Zhongshan Hall and Zhongzheng Hall, located next to the Toufen City Office, transforming them into well-equipped performance venues for Toufen City. Zhongshan Hall is situated in a densely populated area with convenient transportation. After renovation, its facilities are quite complete, with the stage, sound, lighting, and air conditioning all meeting high standards. The stage, in particular, was deepened and widened during the renovation to provide ample space for large performing groups to deliver perfect performances. Zhongzheng Hall, on the other hand, was converted from a library. Currently, its first floor houses a multi-functional exhibition area spanning approximately one hundred ping (about 330 square meters), suitable for exhibitions, conferences, and club activities. On average, two to three exhibitions are scheduled there each month, making it an important art and cultural venue in Miaoli. Following their renovation, Zhongshan Hall and Zhongzheng Hall have become venues for various artistic and cultural performances and exhibitions, enriching the spiritual lives of Miaoli County residents and successfully integrating culture into people's daily lives.
