Shihtan Township Cultural Center

The Shihtan Cultural Center was originally the former site of the Shihtan Township Office. After the township office relocated, the space became vacant. In 2003 (ROC year 92), the government promoted the "Idle Space Reuse" and "Local Cultural Center Programs." To provide a venue for cultural and artistic activities for local residents, and in response to these two programs, the township office sought to establish the cultural center at the old office site. Due to its central location in Xindian Village, with convenient transportation and high accessibility, it is very convenient for residents who wish to enjoy cultural and artistic activities. This has also increased the utilization rate of the cultural center, making it an important building on Xindian Old Street. After renovation, the cultural center covers an area of 500 square meters and has three floors. The first floor features a children's reading room, a digital center, and a gym. The second floor houses a conference room, a lounge, and an old photo exhibition area. The third floor is planned with a presentation room and an exercise room, making it a great place for local residents to engage in leisure activities, reading, and fitness during their free time. In addition, the cultural center irregularly collaborates with professionals to offer courses such as bamboo carving, straw weaving, and papermaking, giving the public an opportunity to learn these ancient crafts.
