Huxu Plum Garden Cultural Museum

This park was established in 1978, and its founding has a unique origin. Over twenty years prior, renowned Chinese painting master Mr. Zhang Daqian visited Nanzhuang but was disappointed not to see plum blossoms. This inspired the park owner to dedicate himself to cultivating them. Although Master Zhang never had the chance to witness the plum blossoms bloom in Nanzhuang, the park owner gained valuable experience in growing them and transformed the area into a space that integrates nature, culture, and art. The park has approximately 0.6 hectares planted with over 20 varieties of plum trees, including rare specimens like century-old red plums and golden thread weeping plums, along with many exquisite plum bonsai. From December to March each year, during the plum blossom season, the park is beautifully adorned with blossoms covering every branch. In addition to admiring the blossoms, visitors can enjoy plum blossom tea made from budding flowers, a unique and delightful beverage. Outside of plum blossom season, the park showcases a seasonal display of cherry blossoms, tung blossoms, lotuses, maple leaves, and osmanthus, ensuring a distinct charm for every season. Beyond the outdoor plum trees, the park features a cultural museum. It houses a collection of calligraphy, paintings, and artifacts related to plum blossoms and Bodhidharma, as well as ancient relics from Nanzhuang's historically prosperous mining and forestry industries. These are displayed periodically, adding a rich cultural atmosphere to the plum garden.
