Pengcheng Liu Clan Ancestral Temple

Located in front of Ruihu Elementary School in Sihou Village, this ancestral temple primarily enshrines the spirit tablets of Enkuan-gong, the pioneering ancestor who established the family in Taiwan, and all subsequent ancestors of the lineage. It also enshrines Guanyin Bodhisattva and Tudigong (Earth God). The Liu Clan Ancestral Temple was initially built in the 25th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1760) during the Qing Dynasty, making it 235 years old. The temple grounds are expansive, with the Xihuxi alluvial plain stretching in front and continuous verdant ridges rising behind, creating a magnificent ambiance. The temple building features a Sanheyuan (three-sided compound) architectural style, covered with green glazed tiles and swallowtail-shaped roof ridges. While it lacks elaborate carvings and painted beams, its simple and elegant aesthetic reflects the tranquil and peaceful style of the Hakka people.
