Originally known as Huyu (Tiger Islet), it is located north of the city center, facing south and situated to the north, serving as a natural barrier against the northeast monsoon. With an elevation of approximately 93 meters, it is lush and verdant. Its shape resembles a fierce tiger raising its head and roaring. From the summit, one can enjoy a panoramic view of Tongxiao, where the sea and sky merge into one. In the past, 'Huyu Tidal View' was listed as Tongxiao's premier scenic spot. Hutoushan boasts four historical sites: the Taiwan Retrocession Monument, ancient cannons, a shrine, and the Shou Gong Ancestral Hall. The ancient cannons were left from the Japanese colonial period, and legend has it that they participated in the Russo-Japanese War and were among the most advanced high-explosive cannons of their time. The Environmental Park on the mountain, combining natural landscapes with ecological conservation, is an excellent place for recreation and outdoor activities.
