LIMA Life Workshop

LIMA Life Workshop transformed from an old ceramics factory, uniquely combining industry, leisure, dining, and Indigenous and Hakka cultures. The workshop offers a dazzling and popular array of lifestyle ceramics featuring totems and patterns from various Indigenous groups. The owner, Nan Hsien-tien, is a Puyuma Indigenous person from Taitung. He previously operated a ceramics factory in Daxi Village, Zaoqiao Township, specializing in export-oriented decorative ceramics. Over a decade ago, as the export ceramics industry declined, Nan Hsien-tien 'returned to his roots,' re-evaluated, and seven years ago began designing a series of ceramics with Indigenous totem styles, creating a unique identity. LIMA (力馬) is derived from an Indigenous term meaning 'five.' Spreading out the hand, the five fingers represent the number five, symbolizing the vitality with which Indigenous people traditionally create objects with their own hands. The owner and his wife infuse their unique Hakka and Indigenous cultural characteristics into their ceramic creations and dining experience, showcasing LIMA's distinctive style.
