Now in its 22nd year, Mu Tou Yao is more than just a rural pottery workshop; over the years, in addition to creating pottery, it has actively promoted pottery cultural education. The owner, Xu Lianbin, has been involved in pottery since childhood, having studied under masters Chen Huantang, Li Chunxiong, Xu Qifuan, and Cai Junwei. His pottery works have won numerous awards in various competitions. To allow the public to deeply appreciate 'the beauty of pottery,' Mu Tou Yao offers hand-throwing and pottery classes, where visitors can enjoy the fun of creating pottery with their own hands. Furthermore, on the second floor, the 'Art Exhibition Hall' displays many exquisitely handcrafted pottery creations, including tea sets, flower vases, urns, bottles, jars, and plates. The innovative glazes are particularly breathtaking. Mu Tou Yao also customizes exquisite crystalline glaze and flowing glaze pottery gifts for organizations, schools, and individuals. Personalized messages or patterns can be fired onto pottery bottles as specified by customers, making them perfect for both collection and gifting. May Snow • Tung Blossom Romance In recent years, with the strong promotion by the Hakka Affairs Council, the image of tung blossoms has almost become synonymous with Hakka regions. Mu Tou Yao has actively incorporated the tung blossom imagery into various daily pottery items, including elegantly colored washbasins, shallow plates adorned with colorful tung blossoms, and teacups and dishes speckled with 'May snow,' all of which are stunning. Due to the insistence on hand-throwing, the shapes and color palettes of these tung blossom pottery pieces are primarily simple and understated, making them very appealing and fully reflecting the graceful and delicate nature of the tung blossom. Furthermore, Mu Tou Yao's tung blossom dinnerware sets (bowls, bone plates, water cups, side plates, large serving bowls, and large platters) from the past three years have received certification from the Miaoli County International Culture and Tourism Bureau.
