Luo Fuxing Memorial Hall

The Luo Fuxing Memorial Hall, located on the mountainside, has a dark blue roof and a light yellow-orange exterior. From a distance, one can see this building, which blends Hakka round house architecture with traditional Chinese architectural features. It was established to commemorate Luo Fuxing, an anti-Japanese revolutionary. At the time, dissatisfied with Japanese colonial rule, he secretly orchestrated anti-Japanese activities. In the 3rd year of the Republic (1914), he and several other revolutionaries were arrested and martyred. After Taiwan's retrocession, the government built the Zhaozhong Tower in Dahu to inter the remains of these revolutionaries. Later, through the efforts of various sectors in Dahu Township, this hall was established near the Zhaozhong Tower and officially opened in the 89th year of the Republic (2000). It is a multi-functional local cultural hall with 4 floors above ground and 1 basement floor. The exhibition areas are divided into static and dynamic sections. The first floor serves as a multi-purpose assembly hall and office. The second floor is the Dahu Specialty Theme Hall, introducing Dahu's traditional industries such as strawberries, lemongrass, camphor, and silk. The third floor is another multi-purpose assembly hall, where the public can hold workshops or performances. The fourth floor is the Luo Fuxing Historical Relics Exhibition Hall, displaying Luo Fuxing's photographs, indictments, copies of judgments, and poems he wrote while in refuge.
