Coastal Forest Park

The Zhunan Coastal Forest Recreation Area's beach is not suitable for swimming due to deep water, so it has not been designated as a swimming beach. However, its long, straight coastline is perfect for wading in the shallows and watching the sunset over the Taiwan Strait. The scenery along the route is beautiful, with native casuarina and palm trees providing natural shade. Whether strolling to enjoy the scenery or cycling for exercise, bathed in the ocean breeze and phytoncides, one can truly connect with nature, dispelling all summer heat. It is also a great place for the whole family to visit in summer. Come! Here you can not only enjoy the sea and water activities but also deeply breathe in the forest atmosphere! The Zhunan Coastal Forest Recreation Area is a long-standing casuarina windbreak forest, now divided into forest areas such as "Parent-Child Forest," "Holiday Forest," and "Evergreen Forest." Stretching approximately 8 kilometers from Qiding Beach in the north to the mouth of Zhonggang River in the south, it covers an area of about 150 hectares. The Evergreen Forest, Parent-Child Forest, and Holiday Forest, located south of Longfeng Harbor, boast excellent paving and facilities, making them popular spots for residents to relax, hike, and observe insect ecology on weekdays. To the north of the fishing harbor, the "North Coastal Forest Park Recreation Area" extends northward directly to Qiding Beach, offering beaches and wooden boardwalks for sea views. You can also see wind turbines along the coast, watching a row of large white windmills spin in the wind, creating a beautiful and interesting scene that makes people irresistibly pick up their cameras and "click! click!" away. Parent-Child Forest: This area features various outdoor sports facilities made from logs, such as rope bridges, slides, and wooden stakes. It's a place where children can play to their hearts' content, and parents and children can enjoy outdoor activities together. Evergreen Forest: The facilities here are primarily designed for visitor relaxation. In the colorful lotus pond at the entrance, mallard ducks swim leisurely. In addition to water lilies, there are various aquatic plants like cattails, making it quite suitable as an outdoor classroom. Holiday Forest: It features various pavilions and stone tables and chairs for visitors to picnic and relax in the shade. It also has well-planned recreational bike paths leading directly to the Parent-Child Forest and Evergreen Forest. The bike paths are unpaved dirt and gravel trails laid using ecological engineering methods, preserving their original natural appearance. Furthermore, as the coastal park is situated under coastal forest shade, the summer sun struggles to penetrate, and in winter, it blocks the strong northeast monsoon. Therefore, cycling here is cool and comfortable in all four seasons.
