Miaobei Arts and Culture Center

To ensure balanced regional development across Miaoli County and create a cultural space that integrates arts and leisure, the "Miaobei Arts and Culture Center" was constructed by the Miaoli County Government. Its initial purpose was to integrate artistic and cultural resources within the Miaobei living area, primarily to enhance local humanistic literacy and artistic atmosphere. It also focuses on promoting local distinctive culture to the international stage, and appropriately introducing cross-strait and international arts and cultural elements, aiming to make Miaoli County a happy place to enjoy cultural life. The "Miaobei Arts and Culture Center" is a modern building with 5 floors above ground and 2 floors underground, with a total building area of 0.9255 hectares. The Miaobei Arts and Culture Center is designated as a "county/city level" performance venue. Its main spaces are planned to include a performance hall (1090 seats), an experimental theater (230 seats), an audio-visual center, an outdoor performance area, an arts and culture exhibition area, and artist-in-residence studios. Its functional development is suitable for various types of music, drama, and dance performances from home and abroad, as well as exhibitions, workshops, training, and large-scale gatherings. Since the essence of arts and culture not only encompasses exhibition and performance activities covering visual and auditory arts, but also the audience's firsthand experience of participating in cultural events, the future operational strategy of the Miaobei Arts and Culture Center will operate from the perspectives of "operational management" and "event production," to integrate local cultural and creative industry resources and enhance the effectiveness of group presentations. The planning will focus on three aspects: "arts and cultural performances," "education and heritage," and "cultural leisure," building the Miaobei Arts and Culture Special Zone as the core of its development. The goal is primarily to serve the local residents of Miaobei, and then gradually expand to cultural enthusiasts throughout Miaoli County and across the nation.
