The Yongheshan Reservoir Cycling Trail and Sightseeing Greenway primarily focuses on introducing local natural and Hakka cultural resources. The guided tour along the route includes: full area guidance and resource interpretive signs, direction signs and mileage markers, beautification of railings and paving on Hundred-Year Bridge, beautification of Estuary Bridge, Dongxing Stone Wall Poem Inscription Sculpture (historical site reconstruction), facility improvements in front of Yizi House, and the construction of a new footpath and safety railing in front of the Niaozhizai Cave entrance. The natural beauty along the way is stunning and amazing, with many scenic spots worth stopping to admire and savor; such as the steadfast century-old maple tree, the rare “joint office” of the Earth God temples, the lush green ancient porter trail, the miraculously crafted Niaozhizai rock tunnel, and the deeply devoted and inseparable “Couple Trees.” There are also sites that evoke a sense of history and nostalgia, like the Yongning Yidu Stele (Ferry Monument), Liu Ancestral Shrine, and the traditional Yizi House, among others. The Yongheshan Bicycle Sightseeing Trail is located in Shangxing Village, Toufen City, starting from Dongxing Riverside Park and ending at the Niaozhizai Tunnel entrance, with a total length of approximately 3 kilometers. The area through which the trail passes is a typical Hakka village, where both residential styles and local customs still preserve the simple, original appearance of Hakka people. Most houses here face vast rice paddies, offering expansive views; the elderly still maintain a lifestyle of working from dawn to dusk, fostering a close and harmonious relationship between people and nature. Earth God temples are their spiritual solace, and Xu House is a symbol of their strong clan ties. Special Landscapes and Ecological Environment: Xu Ancestral Hall: The Xu Ancestral Hall (Xu House) is the ancestral home of Xu Ming-gui's lineage, a traditional Sanheyuan (three-sided courtyard) building. It is extremely well-preserved, exuding an antique charm that evokes a sense of historical reflection. Shangpu Fude Temple: Shangpu Fude Temple is located at No. 495 Jixiang Road, completed in the winter of 1969. This old Earth God temple is not only the center of faith for nearby residents, but the large trees beside it also provide a place for everyone to rest and chat. Niaozhizai Tunnel: The Niaozhizai Tunnel is located in the hilly area of Shangxing Village, overlooking Zhonggang River and a vast expanse of rice paddies. The cave is approximately 1.8m high, 1.7m wide, and 100m long, with smooth and sturdy rock walls, unsupported by any pillars. After passing through the dark tunnel, ascending along the mountain path on the right side of the cave, you can see the remains of a worker's shed and a cable car. The Niaozhizai Tunnel was likely a route used by early residents to transport agricultural products (sugarcane).
