Located in Wufeng Township, the Hiyama Giant Tree Group Trail is approximately 4 kilometers long. It was originally a logging cart trail used by early loggers to transport timber, and has now become a popular secluded spot for hiking and scenic viewing. The trail boasts rich forest scenery and fresh air; walking through it feels like opening a time portal, allowing you to explore the breath and life of an ancient forest. At the 2.8-kilometer mark, you will be greeted by the breathtaking beauty of giant trees! This area is home to five spectacular Taiwan Red Cypress giant trees, all over a thousand years old. Among them, Giant Trees No. 1 and No. 2 have existed for over 2,000 years, making them one of the most precious natural heritages in the Hsinchu mountain forests. The trail has a gentle slope and is well-maintained, making it suitable even for family outings. Detailed interpretive signs are provided along the way, allowing you to learn as you walk and gain a wealth of knowledge! On clear days, there's also a chance to admire the majestic Mount Dabajian from afar, surrounded by picturesque mountains.
