The Shiyingzi Ancient Trail is located in the Lion's Head Mountain Scenic Area, Emei Township, Hsinchu County. It is adjacent to Qixing Village in Emei and Nankeng Village in Beipu Township. Also known as the Shilen Ancient Trail, which means "a hill covered with stones" in Hakka. In early times, it was a vital transportation route for early settlers, connecting Beipu through Emei to Nanzhuang, used for transporting goods and migration. Later, it transformed into a trail for exercise and recreation. Along the trail, visitors can discover numerous relics from the agricultural era, such as the remains of terraced fields cultivated on the slopes, and irrigation channels and their protective embankments used for irrigation back then. These all bear witness to the diligent cultivation of the early settlers. With its rich ecological environment and profound cultural and historical significance, the area around the ancient trail offers beautiful scenery and stories worth exploring for visitors interested in history and culture or natural exploration.
