Warship Rock Suspension Bridge

The Warship Rock Suspension Bridge is located in Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County. The Zhishhengmaotai Mountain Trail, also in Jianshi Township, starts near this bridge. Zhishhengmaotai Mountain stands at an elevation of 1,789 meters. The trail involves an ascent of nearly 1,000 meters, with a round-trip length of about 7 kilometers. The outbound journey is almost entirely uphill, posing a challenge to both physical stamina and climbing skills, making it a moderately difficult hiking route. Hikers planning to visit are advised to carry trekking poles to assist with steeper sections. The starting point of the Zhishhengmaotai Mountain Trail is located behind the Warship Rock Suspension Bridge. The bridge is adorned with diamond-shaped totems of the Atayal tribe, reflecting its deep connection with the Atayal people. From the bridge, visitors can look down upon Warship Rock, which resembles a battleship ready to set sail, standing majestically in the Baishi River valley. All who see it marvel at the ingenious craftsmanship of nature. The Baishi River is famous for its crystal-clear waters. Many 'Kuhua' fish (Formosan upland minnow), which thrive in clean water, inhabit the area, indicating an excellent ecological environment. Every autumn, the maple trees around Warship Rock gradually turn red, adding a splash of brilliant color to the entire valley. To fully immerse oneself in the beauty of the autumn leaves, one can cross the Kongxi Suspension Bridge, located near the Warship Rock Suspension Bridge, to reach a picturesque sweetgum forest. This forest is situated at the confluence of the Baishi and Taigang Rivers, where the magnificent river valley combined with the hillsides ablaze with red maples creates a breathtaking vista. Moreover, the nearby Xiuluan Hot Spring attracts numerous visitors every autumn, who come specifically to enjoy the scenery and take memorable photos.
