Liu Hsing-Chin Comic and Education Museum

When visiting Neiwan, many are certainly familiar with the renowned local artist Liu Hsing-Chin. Famous for comics such as 'Brother Ah-San and Grandma Ah-Po' and 'Robot and Ah-Jin,' Liu Hsing-Chin once authorized nearby businesses to use portraits of his comic characters for a single dollar to help promote local tourism in Neiwan. Liu Hsing-Chin had always hoped for his own comic exhibition hall, so he utilized the specialized classroom space at Neiwan Elementary School in Hsinchu County to plan and establish the museum. When tourists visit Neiwan, they can not only spot comic characters like Brother Ah-San and Grandma Ah-Po everywhere but also visit the comic exhibition hall to admire his artwork. The museum features a creative cultural products area, a time tunnel, regular comic art exhibitions, a 'Comic Secret Garden,' and more. The two-story comic exhibition hall displays many original comic works by Teacher Liu on the first floor. Walking through the time corridor, visitors can also learn about the highlights of Teacher Liu's creative career. Many people know Liu Hsing-Chin only as a cartoonist, but he actually has another identity: an 'inventor'! Ret retractable umbrella sleeves, portable raincoats, pencils with replaceable lead refills, and more were all invented by Teacher Liu. Later, he focused on children's education, even inventing self-learning machines and other educational materials for children. With his flexible mind, he generously shared his knowledge, integrating education and entertainment into daily life.
