Jin Guangfu Gukuan

The Jin Guangfu Gukuan, located in Beipu Township, is a quadrangle courtyard building rich in historical stories. Established in the 15th year of the Daoguang Emperor's reign (1835) during the Qing Dynasty, it once served as an important headquarters for armed settlement and still retains its unique defensive architectural style today. This building is not only Taiwan's earliest successful example of a government-sponsored private development but also one of the last remaining gukuan buildings in Taiwan, and it has been designated a national monument. Besides its profound historical value, the plum blossom trees outside the gukuan are another major highlight. Triggered by cold fronts, the plum blossoms bloom, with delicate white flowers unfolding, creating a serene and elegant winter scene that seems to transport visitors into a winter painting, exuding a unique subtle fragrance. When the plum blossoms are in full bloom here, it's the best time to appreciate them.
