The operating philosophy of Mindouyou Sculpture Park: A group of Atayal people from various tribes in Taoshan Village, under the guidance of a diverse employment program facilitated by the Council of Labor Affairs, developed Atayal wood carving skills. The journey from complete unfamiliarity to technical mastery brought extraordinary enjoyment. What was once a wild, overgrown area now presents itself with a natural and rustic charm, blending cultural and artistic elements. Every stone and piece of wood here has been meticulously handcrafted. The Mindouyou Carving Class, piece by piece – every wood, every stone, every tile, every pillar – rebuilt a space that integrates ecology and culture, rising from significant damage. All building materials adhere to eco-friendly concepts, meeting green building standards. Without the aid of large machinery, every part was constructed by hand. In addition to cultivating carving talent and preserving traditional weaving, they have also incorporated bed and breakfast operations, aiming to integrate cultural elements into leisure tourism.
