Hidden amidst the lush greenery of the mountains, Heart's Ease Tea House is located next to the Shishan Visitor Center, a tranquil hidden gem not to be missed when visiting Hsinchu County. The tea house architecture blends an antique Hakka style with natural elements. Traditional sloped roofs, wine jars, and bamboo weaving decorations collectively create a rich cultural ambiance, making it a popular spot for travelers to take photos and check in. Its outdoor dining area is a major highlight, nestled under Tung trees. The name of Heart's Ease Tea House is derived from the Buddhist saying, "When the wild mind rests, rest is Bodhi," hoping that travelers can set aside their worries here, rest for a moment, and experience the serenity of "a calm heart and the enduring fragrance of tea." Its location was originally Shishan Elementary School. With the establishment of the Sanshan National Scenic Area Administration in 2001 (Republic of China year 90), the school grounds were redeveloped and revitalized into the "Shitou Mountain Visitor Service Center," becoming a crucial hub connecting natural ecology and cultural history. The tea house itself was converted from the original teachers' dormitory, retaining its sloped roof and rustic structure. Natural-textured materials were used to reshape the space, presenting an architectural aesthetic that is simple, warm, and imbued with the Hakka spirit. Simultaneously, the old classrooms and infirmary were transformed into an "Eco Classroom" and a "Visitor Center," allowing travelers not only to enjoy tea and relax but also to gain a deeper understanding of the local culture and the charm of the natural environment.
