The Wu Zhuoliu Former Residence, located in Xinpu Township, is an old sanheyuan (traditional courtyard house) filled with a nostalgic atmosphere. It preserves the spatial culture of early Hakka life and commemorates Mr. Wu Zhuoliu, a representative figure of modern Taiwanese literature. With its historical and literary educational significance, it is well worth a visit. According to the Wu Clan's "Public Register of the Five Great Branches": "...Recalling that since Jiangde Fengshi, Tai Bo established the Wu surname, and Confucius praised his utmost virtue and benevolence. After thousands of generations, it spread across the four seas..." And: "In those days, my ancestor, whose name was Zhuoguan, moved from Zhenyi to Taiwan, rose with determination to build a family, and diligently established himself, acquiring land and building houses in Damaopu."
