Hsinpu Ancestral Hall Hakka Cultural Interpretive Center

The Hsinpu Ancestral Hall Hakka Cultural Interpretive Center originally served as the dormitory for successive principals of Hsinpu Elementary School during the Japanese colonial period, making it the only Japanese-style dormitory in Hsinpu Township. Historical research indicates that this dormitory was built 10 years before the founding of the Republic of China (i.e., 1901) by the Japanese government, intended for the residence of Hsinpu Elementary School's principals. The dormitory, covering an area of approximately 25 square meters, was constructed during the Japanese rule period with a structure comprising wood and reinforced concrete, boasting a history of over a hundred years. After its renovation and restoration in 2012, it was transformed into the present-day Ancestral Hall Interpretive Center.
