Visitor Essentials

This station is considered the most distinctive in Taiwan. Designed by renowned architect Kris Yao, it represented Taiwan at the 2002 Venice Architecture Biennale in Italy and won the Taiwan Architecture Award in 2006. Its interior and exterior design incorporate elements of wafers and glass, while its curved, streamlined roof draws inspiration from the traditional Hakka "weilongwu" (fortified circular houses). This fusion creates a building and station space that is both local, modern, and technologically advanced. Although it has the smallest station area among all Taiwan High-Speed Rail stations, its unique high-tech and stylish appearance, combined with local characteristics, made it immensely popular among photography enthusiasts upon completion, becoming a new iconic silhouette of Zhubei's technology scene eagerly captured by photographers.
