As one of the most dreamed-of challenging routes for cyclists across Taiwan, Taiwan Cycling Route No. 1 spans nearly a thousand kilometers, connecting classic attractions throughout the island. When passing through Hsinchu County, this section is approximately 18.8 kilometers long, traversing the Xinwawu Hakka Culture Preservation Area, Zhubei HSR Special Zone, and local town settlements. It offers both cultural immersion and convenient accessibility. Starting from Touqianxi Bridge at the intersection of Xinglong Road and Provincial Highway 1, cyclists can visit the Xinpu Wenshan Trail, Xinpu Township Farmers' Association, and unique barn cafés along the route, experiencing a diverse blend of nature, culture, and cuisine. This section of the route is flat and easy to navigate, allowing both long-distance island-circling cyclists and those planning a short trip in Hsinchu County to freely enjoy the pleasure of cycling. A stop at Zhubei's Xinwawu allows for a deeper understanding of Hakka culture and architectural features, adding a cultural highlight to the island-circling journey.
