Visitor Essentials

Zhenxibao, Taiwan's highest mountain aboriginal village, is revered by the Atayal people as the sacred land where the first rays of dawn shine. It boasts Taiwan's largest primeval cypress forest, spanning 50 square kilometers. The towering trees create an awe-inspiring, majestic canopy, while drifting clouds and mist frequently veil the dense forest, making one feel transported to a serene, isolated haven of ultimate primal beauty. Within the village, there is also a stone church, meticulously built over many years by the villagers using stones from the Xiuluan Stream and white marble. This rectangular building features a yellow roof interspersed with blue and white, and its walls are carved with the tribe's representative totems and stories. It serves as a place of spiritual solace and a tranquil, self-sufficient cultural landscape in the mountains.
