Visitor Essentials

Hengshan Station is one of the stops along the Taiwan Railways Neiwan Line. The original wooden station building was demolished long ago, leaving only a waiting shelter. It is an unmanned flag stop. Without a station building, the station is often deserted, as if time has stood still. Many cherry blossom trees are planted on the platform and beside the tracks of Hengshan Station, attracting numerous visitors to take photos when the cherry blossom season arrives. Outside of cherry blossom season, with its lush green scenery and the occasional passing of painted trains, not many tourists stop here. You can fully enjoy taking many beautiful photos without worrying about being disturbed by other visitors. A short trip to Hengshan can start right in front of the station. After taking your beautiful photos, why not head to Zhanqian Street, next to the station, for some food and drinks? This street features a specialty herbal tea shop and an old noodle shop that has been operating for decades. Grab a healthy herbal tea to rehydrate, then enjoy a bowl of Hakka Ban Tiao or Hakka Tangyuan. Once you're full, take your time to explore Hengshan, this simple yet charming town.
