Baoshan Little West Lake

Following County Road 44, you'll arrive at Baoshan Township, just a 20-minute drive from Hsinchu Science Park. In Youcai Village, nestled beside a hilly area, lies an ecological farm pond. The lake scenery is serene, the agricultural ecosystem is pristine, and an arch bridge in the center of the pond beautifully reflects on the water, rivaling the scenic beauty of West Lake in Hangzhou, China. This has earned it the reputation of 'Taiwan's Little West Lake'. Originally a small pond used by farmers for water storage, it later transformed into a large farm pond integrating 'life, production, and ecology' through a local rural revitalization project, thus earning it the name 'Three-Life Farm Pond'. The local ecology is rich, with frequent sightings of Taiwan blue magpies, five-colored birds, cuckoos, and traces of frogs and squirrels. The most beautiful feature is undoubtedly the grayish-white crescent-shaped arch bridge in the center of the pond. Its symmetrical circular reflection on the water resembles a classical landscape painting. A few mandarin ducks and white ducks gracefully swim, creating ripples on the calm surface. The reflection of the crescent arch bridge, once mirror-like, now ripples and sways with them, creating a serene, secluded paradise. The area around the farm pond is tranquil. A 400-meter-long lakeside trail takes only about 15 minutes to walk. The path is a wooden boardwalk, very flat and easy to navigate. Osmanthus, maple, and zelkova trees provide ample shade, keeping it cool even on a sunny day. Strolling along the lakeside, enjoying the gentle breeze under the trees, and looking down from the crescent arch bridge, you'll see a small island in the center of the lake adorned with several cute white ducks, making this exquisite, painting-like fairyland even more vibrant. The tranquil lake water is gently kissed by drooping willow branches on both sides. When the sunset casts its golden glow upon the farm pond, the sight is truly breathtaking.
