Hsinchu County Art Museum

The total floor area of the art museum is 4,010 square meters. The entrance area is designed with winding corridors and courtyard landscapes in a Southern Fujian style, which complements the function of the exhibition hall itself and can also serve as an outdoor exhibition area. The entire building structure utilizes shear wall design, meaning there are no visible columns inside, allowing for greater flexibility in exhibition space. The total floor area of the performing arts center is 8,072 square meters. Its exterior shape expresses the outward and open nature of performing arts, with a curved facade and the use of a sloped roof creating the imagery of traditional architecture. The performance spaces are divided into three main parts: a performing arts hall, a lecture hall, and an experimental theater, along with a large outdoor performance venue. As an exhibition space for painting, photography, sculpture, and crafts, this art venue exudes a rich cultural atmosphere right from its main entrance. The impressive main entrance features a pair of antique door gods donated by Sanyuan Temple in Hukou Township, as well as 'stone pearls' and 'stone steps' gifted by Taihe Temple in Guansi, with these precious century-old historical artifacts adding a strong classical charm. From the main entrance to the art museum, there is a winding corridor and a pond garden reflecting the shadows of trees and the beauty of flowers. Walking through it evokes the poetic feeling of pavilions and terraces along winding paths leading to secluded spots. The art museum has seven exhibition rooms on the first floor and basement, each designed without columns to prevent visual obstruction and enhance viewing. The lighting design combines natural light with artificial illumination to ensure optimal presentation of exhibited works and provide visitors with a premium art viewing experience.
