Pitangwo Ecological Park

Heading uphill towards Jiugong Lake, before reaching Jinggu Farm, a small road curving to the right leads to the Pitangwo Aquatic Plants Education Park. Pitangwo, which primarily caters to booked guests, was originally a rice paddy field and later converted to cultivate fruit trees. However, due to owner Huang Liu Jinkui's advanced age and rural exodus, the irrigation canals and ponds gradually lost their function. Unwilling to see this beloved land go to waste, they collaborated with the community to transform it. The original 1-jia (approximately 2.4 acres) area now utilizes its pond environment to cultivate aquatic plants. The park also grows nectar-rich plants favored by insects, such as Barringtonia racemosa (Powder-puff Tree) and Aristolochia (Dutchman's Pipe), allowing butterflies to easily forage. Additionally, Formosan Ash trees provide a suitable habitat for rhinoceros beetles. The entire park is beautiful and clean, and with opportunities to interact with insects everywhere and surprises at every turn, it has become children's favorite secret treasure hunting spot.
