Heping Tribal Recreational Agricultural Zone

The indigenous people of Wufeng Township still refer to the Heping Community as Maibalai. It is one of the four originating tribes of the Atayal people in Wufeng. The area boasts over 10 natural waterfalls perfect for SPA, and walking on the lush, tree-lined trails while absorbing phytoncides is refreshing and invigorating. It is an emerging tourist destination in Wufeng, where local stone lotus, pasture-based dishes, and high-altitude vegetables and fruits are highly favored by visitors. A key feature of the Heping Tribal Recreational Agricultural Zone in Wufeng Township is its preservation of original Atayal culture. They even utilize local bamboo forest products to construct numerous distinctive cultural artifacts, such as bamboo torii gates, bamboo houses, various bamboo creations, and bamboo signs, allowing travelers to immediately feel the vibrant, passionate spirit of the indigenous people upon entering the Heping tribal area. Heping Tribe features three famous trails, with the Guyan Waterfall Trail being the most renowned. The Maibalai Trail, adjacent to the Guyan Waterfall Trail, was an important route for early local residents. Although convenient external roads now exist, this trail still holds significant value and meaning for the residents. The Guize Mountain Hiking Trail, located in the center of Heping Tribe, is a paradise for hikers. From here, one can climb to the highest point of Heping Tribe and admire the beauty of the entire Heping village. In addition to Heping Tribe's unique cultural characteristics, this agricultural zone is also a region specializing in peaches and plums. During the peak season for these fruits, the entire hillside is covered with white paper bags wrapped around the fruits. If not observed carefully, one might mistake them for snow blanketing the mountains, creating a truly beautiful sight.
