Xinpu Wenchang Temple

The Xinpu Wenchang Temple was built during the Daoguang era and is one of three Wenchang temples in Hsinchu County. It was rebuilt during the Guangxu era due to its age. The reconstructed temple served as both a study hall and a temple hall, becoming a representative building that showcased Xinpu's early civilized character. In the early years of the Republic of China, the Wenchang Temple was suddenly destroyed by fire. Consequently, it was actively rebuilt again in the 84th year of the Republic (1995). Wenchang Temple primarily worships the five great deities: Wenchang Dijun, Wenkui Dijun, Zhuyi Shenjun, Wenheng Shengdi, and Fuyou Dijun, characteristic of Taoist polytheism.
