Visitor Essentials

Shiye Pavilion is located in Guanxi Township. It enshrines two stones that have been worshipped for over a hundred years. One stone is large and the other is small, and residents of Guanxi Township refer to them as 'Stone Grandfather' (Shiye) and 'Stone Grandmother' (Shipo), venerating them as guardians of local peace and safety. Many local people adopt Shiye as their 'godfather' to pray for safe growth. Every year on the 8th day of the 4th lunar month, which is Shiye's birthday, the godchildren return to Shiye Pavilion to offer their respects. Next to Shiye Pavilion is a couplet whose inscription states that elaborate offerings are unnecessary; sincerity is enough. This has also become a distinctive feature of the place.
