Saint Thérèse Church

The Saint Thérèse Church, located in Baoshan Township, Hsinchu County, is the main pilgrimage site of the Catholic Diocese of Hsinchu and is also known as Xincheng Catholic Church. Its elegant appearance makes it a local landmark with distinct cultural and artistic characteristics. The gigantic statue of Saint Thérèse outside the church embodies a spirit of merciful salvation. Ascending to the sanctuary on the second floor, one finds all windows adorned with stained glass. Afternoon sunlight streams in, casting various golden glows and creating a solemn atmosphere. Along the small pathway outside the church, visitors can see a majestic and benevolent statue of the Virgin Mary, as well as the Stations of the Cross depicting Jesus' suffering. The stone slabs are engraved with 15 scenes of the Passion, vividly bringing the story to life. Whether pilgrims come to worship or travelers visit, everyone can experience a sense of inner peace in this tranquil place.
