Step onto the Sanduanqi Historic Trail, a century-old mountain path, and wander amidst bamboo groves and stone steps. Located at the border of Ximpu Township and Qionglin Township in Hsinchu County, the Sanduanqi Historic Trail is a century-old mountain path steeped in historical memory. In the past, local residents carried abundant citrus fruits and persimmons from the Qionglin area across this ancient trail to sell them at the Ximpu market, leaving behind profound humanistic footprints. The ancient trail is paved with large, flat stone slabs, known as 'Shiqizi' in Hakka, meaning a mountain slope path paved with stones. It still retains its rustic charm today. The Sanduanqi Historic Trail, approximately 3 kilometers long, is characterized by three sections of stone steps. Along the way, lush bamboo groves create a natural green tunnel, vibrant with greenery. Starting from the Qionglin end, there's an observation deck along the way offering panoramic views of Qionglin Township and Zhubei City. Continuing along the stone slab path, after passing through tranquil bamboo groves, it transitions into an original cobblestone path. The trail is not only gentle and easy to walk but also full of the vitality of nature. At the ridge fork, visitors can turn towards Shitoukeng Mountain to discover secondary and tertiary triangulation benchmarks. Nearby, a boundary stone for the 'Taiwan Provincial Government Touqian River Water Source Protection Area' can also be seen, testifying to the trail's geographical and historical significance. Returning to the main trail and continuing forward, you will pass ancient camphor trees and a stone-sheltered Earth God shrine, eventually reaching the Ximpu trailhead. Travelers can also choose to take a side trail for a circular route, fully experiencing the charm of the historic trail. The Sanduanqi Historic Trail is not only a historical path connecting Ximpu and Qionglin but also a journey deep into time. Whether you want to get closer to nature, enjoy a leisurely hike, or learn about local culture and Hakka history, this is an excellent choice. Take a trip to Sanduanqi and let your spirit return to that simple era with every step. It's worth mentioning that the Sanduanqi Historic Trail is also one of the designated mission trails for the '2025 Hsinchu Forest Tour - Pipi Lion Expedition'! Follow Pipi Lion's footsteps and explore this century-old mountain path filled with historical memories, embarking on your own Hsinchu adventure! ------Sanduanqi Historic Trail Basic Information------ Type: Foothill Trail Difficulty: Low Length: Approx. 5.2 km (one-way, approx. 2 hours) Trail Conditions: Stone slab path, cobblestones, original dirt path Starting Point: Xiashan Village, Qionglin Township (suggest navigating to 'Sanduanqi Historic Trail')
