Ruanqiao Thousand-Year Trail

The 'Ruanqiao Thousand-Year Trail' was established when Han Chinese settlers arrived to reclaim land. Due to the Shangping River's frequent overflows making transportation impossible, they resourcefuly used local rattan to construct a temporary bridge for passage. This bridge remained functional for ten years, leading locals to name it 'Ruanqiao' (Soft Bridge). In April and May, the trail is covered in a beautiful blanket of white tung blossoms, complementing its picturesque forest landscape. Thanks to excellent firefly conservation efforts by the Ruanqiao community, visitors can enjoy the stunning sight of twinkling fireflies against the night sky every firefly season.
