Located at the border of Nanzhuang Township, Miaoli County, and Wufeng Township, Hsinchu County, both townships offer hiking trails for ascent. The southern ridge of Wuzhi Mountain connects with the northern ridge of Egongji Mountain. As it is a hiking route and also serves as a warm-up mountain before tackling larger peaks, hiking associations in Miaoli and Hsinchu frequently organize activities to climb Egongji Mountain. Additionally, the Saisiyat indigenous people divide themselves into northern and southern groups along the ridge line of Egongji Mountain and Qipingbei Mountain, allowing visitors to experience Saisiyat culture here. Egongji Mountain stands at an elevation of 1,579 meters and is part of the ridge line extending north from Luchangda Mountain (Leshana Mountain). There are at least three trailheads for Egongji Mountain: one is the traditional Da'ai trailhead, located about 10 kilometers after turning right at the 34.5K mark of County Highway 122; the second is within the Shan Shang Ren Jia Farm (entrance fee NT$100, redeemable for purchases), located after turning right at the 42.5K mark of County Highway 122 and following the signs. Additionally, there is another trailhead in Donghe Village, Nanzhuang. This route offers more pristine scenery, is more challenging, and ascends 945 meters in elevation. All three paths converge at the summit.
