Yemakan Mountain Forest Trail

A secret mountain retreat, a journey to a triangulation point, and a trail offering views of the Sheipa Seven Sceneries. The Yemakan Mountain Forest Trail, located in the Guanguan area of Wufeng Township, Hsinchu County, is hidden within Sheipa Leisure Farm. It is a unique hiking route that offers both stunning natural landscapes and a tranquil atmosphere. The trailhead is conveniently situated inside the farm, and the starting point is easily accessible, making it suitable for both experienced hikers and families with children. Starting from the Sheipa Farm's reception building and passing the Sea of Clouds Cafe, it takes about ten minutes to reach the summit of Yemakan Mountain, approximately 2,000 meters above sea level. Here, a well-maintained third-order triangulation point and four-directional markers are installed. Although the elevation is not particularly high, it offers an excellent panoramic view. In winter, visitors have the chance to admire the 'Sheipa Seven Sceneries': sunrise, sunset glow, sea of clouds, mountain views, mist views, rain views, and starry skies, making for a truly captivating experience. Behind the summit observation deck, a circular forest trail can be accessed, with tree trunk markers numbered 1 to 40 along the way. Walk on a soft carpet of cypress needles, passing through deadwood from lightning strikes and old logging remnants. Along the way, two viewpoints offer distant views of Wuzhi Mountain, Egongji Mountain, Leshan Radar Station, and a panoramic view of the entire farm. The expansive views are refreshing and invigorating. In addition to hiking and enjoying the scenery, after descending, visitors can also experience fruit picking and flower viewing at the farm, or continue to explore the mountain and forest scenery at the nearby Guanguan National Forest Recreation Area. Alternatively, one can choose to camp overnight or enjoy hot springs at Qingquan, experiencing a multi-layered travel adventure from mountaintop to valley.
