The Shishan Ancient Trail is a path connecting the front and back mountains of Lion's Head Mountain. Although the journey is long, the sections are gentle and easy to walk. The first half preserves a flagstone path paved with bluestone, while the second half consists of cement and asphalt roads. This is also a famous temple sanctuary, with six Buddhist temples along the way, including Wanfo Temple, Lingxia Cave, Jingang Temple, Jueran Pagoda, Haihui Temple, and Yuanguang Temple. It is the most frequently walked route by general tourists. Continuing downhill from Wangyue Pavilion towards Quanhua Temple, you will have already entered Miaoli County from Hsinchu County.
