Besides the Shaotanwo Ancient Trail, along Township Road Zhu 14, there is another secluded paradise called 'Kengyuan'. The park is densely planted with flowers and trees and raises small animals, making it ideal for family outings. Kengyuan, covering an area of 3 hectares, features bamboo groves, ancient trails, ponds, farmhouses, and other scenic landscapes. A large lush lawn is equipped with swings, slides, and other play facilities, allowing children to play to their heart's content. They can also feed adorable animals that roam freely, such as long-eared rabbits and guinea pigs. Meanwhile, adults can enjoy tea under the gourd trellis, savoring locally sourced stewed chicken and clay pot roasted sweet potatoes, and quietly observe white geese swimming gracefully in the lotus pond, reliving the simplicity of an agricultural society. Kengyuan not only serves as a recreational spot but also holds educational significance. While strolling and enjoying the phytoncides, visitors can also draw wisdom from nature. Follow the 'Follow Me' signs towards the highest point and ascend to the Cape of Good Hope observation deck, where you can overlook the Hsinchu landscape. If the weather is good, you can even gaze out at the Taiwan Strait. Visitors here can not only explore hidden gems and scenic spots but also discover forgotten moments through their interactions with the people and scenery.
