Tengping Historic Trail

The Tengping Historic Trail is named for its rich vine ecology, especially its abundance of yellow rattan in earlier times. Formerly a tea plantation trail owned by the influential Jiang family of Beipu, it is now a well-known hiking destination in Hsinchu County. Starting from the trailhead at Shishan Visitor Center, the entire trail is approximately 2 kilometers long, primarily paved with dirt paths, pebbles, and wooden boardwalks. The entire section is flat and easy to walk. Along the way, visitors can see over 50 species of vines and more than 80 species of ferns, as well as a more than 60-year-old Entada vine, making it a highly educational hiking route. It connects with the Liuliao Historic Trail, and a combined walk takes about 1 hour. The winding paths formed by intertwining vines and ferns along the way create an atmosphere of entering a secret realm. During the Tung Blossom season, you can also witness the incredibly beautiful scenery of white flowers covering the mountains. On hot days, quickly escape to the mountains! With dense forests and lush vegetation providing shade on both sides, you can cool off while also strengthening your body!
