Baojia Ancient Trail

Visiting ancient trails has always been a great way to learn about local history. The Baojia Ancient Trail, with its 200-year history, reveals from its name 'Baojia' that it was developed during the Qing Dynasty. The Baojia Ancient Trail was formerly known as the 'Porters' Trail.' Before the Laokeng area of Yangmei had external connecting roads, it was an essential route for porters traveling between Ximpu, Hsinchu, and Daxi, Taoyuan, primarily transporting agricultural products such as persimmons, tangerines, tea leaves, and bitter tea oil.
