Visitor Essentials
Follow in the footsteps of former shepherds, treading the valleys and ravines of a Nankan River tributary. The sheepfolds (known as 'Yángchóu' in Hokkien) and grazing scenes once found in the forest are no longer seen. Instead, many hikers now weave through this serene mountain wilderness trail. The Yangchoukeng Forest Trail is approximately 3.3 kilometers long, generally gentle and easy to walk, and lush with greenery along the way. You can also catch a distant view of the high-speed rail passing through a tunnel. A visit is definitely worthwhile!
