Visitor Essentials
The Baling Ancient Trail was originally a tribal pathway built by the Atayal people in the Fuxing mountain area in ancient times. Unlike ancient trails that circle the mountains, this one follows the mountain ridge directly upwards. Although it has fallen into disuse over time and with the construction of highways, it has nurtured a rich ecosystem of flora and fauna. If you venture deep into the forest, you'll find mostly dense, primitive broadleaf forests, as well as plants like Chinese Wintersweet, Baling Pink, Blood Vine, and vanilla orchids hanging from trees, all showcasing the beauty of natural ecology.
